Background

Creative Scores emerged from a long engagement with music as a narrative and relational art form—shaped through years of composing, producing, and listening across media, recorded music, and live environments.

The studio began as a shared idea between longtime friends and collaborators Michael Cochran and Christopher Eickmann, rooted in a mutual belief that music should serve story, scale, and emotional continuity. Early conversations and collaborations explored how music functions across film, live performance, and extended forms, laying the groundwork for what would become Creative Scores.

Over time, Creative Scores evolved into a composer-led studio under Eickmann’s direction, expanding its focus to include scoring for media, recorded releases, and the development of long-form catalogues. While the studio’s structure has clarified, those early influences remain present in its values. Cochran continues to be a close friend and respected creative voice, part of the studio’s formative history.

Eickmann’s work spans film, television, live environments, and recorded music, including releases and collaborations with established labels and institutions in the contemplative and narrative music space such as Sounds True. Across these contexts, the emphasis has remained consistent: music shaped with care for pacing, presence, and long-term resonance.

Creative Scores’ work has been recognized with Addy AwardsFlagler Awards, and a Grammy® nomination, reflecting a sustained commitment to craft and story-driven music across disciplines.

Today, Creative Scores operates as an integrated studio bringing together scoring, music production, and catalogue development—guided by a long view and a belief that music, when created with intention, can carry meaning through time. A studio shaped by history, relationships, and a commitment to work that endures.
